Chamonix City Part 2

Reindeer art

Well, I am still at Chamonix City.  I am done with trying out the activities here.  There are lots of things to see. First I decided to take a walk through the center park area.  There was a frozen pond where I could have skated, but I was too tired and sore from my ski jump fall.  I noticed some nice reindeer made from wood.  They had a log as the body and head with sticks for the legs and antlers.

As I continued walking through the park, I was startled by Woolly Mammoth.  This was a massive beast and would be a site to see them roaming the Arctic plains if they were not extinct.

When I was finished walking through the park, I entered a building that had some historic photographs from Chamonix City.  The first one I really liked was the one of the first professional hockey team that played here.  Below is a picture of their team.

The next one that caught my eye was a photograph of the early days of Chamonix City.   It has an absolutely majestic view of their outdoor hockey rink that is still in use today.  Behind the hockey rink is the mountain that will eventually used for skiing and the ski jump.

I decided to visit the hockey hall of fame here.  One of the places that I want to visit in real life is the NHL hockey hall of fame.  As I walked through, there were numerous plaques on the walls that enshrined the most outstanding players at each position.  I did not recognize any of the players on the walls here.

As you can see by my two posts, there is so much to do here.  If you are the athletic type and like winter sports, you would absolutely love this place.  If not, you can still stop by and enjoy the outdoor park or even catch a hockey game.  Make sure you check your schedule for dates and times of upcoming games.  I definitely give this place two thumbs up, it’s a true winter wonderland!!
